2010 CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

 

Filing for the May 8, 2010 Dickinson City Council Election begins on February 6, 2010.  City Council Member Positions Two, Four and Six are up for re-election.  All positions are for three-year terms.  Candidates for positions on the City Council must meet the following criteria:

 

• A citizen of the United States

• 21 years of age or older

• Have not been declared mentally incapacitated  or partially mentally incapacitated by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction

• Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which they have not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities

• Resided in the State of Texas for one (1) year and the City of Dickinson for six (6) months

• Not indebted to the City of Dickinson

• A qualified voter

 

Please note that while the first day to file for office is February 6, 2010, the City Secretary’s office is not open on February 6 or 7.  Therefore, the first day you can file the application will be February 8.  The deadline for filing for Office is March 8, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.  Applications can be submitted at Dickinson City Hall, 4403 Highway 3.

 

A complete packet of forms and information necessary to file for office is available in the City Secretary’s Office and also on the City’s website www.ci.dickinson.tx.us by clicking on the City Secretary’s web page and then clicking on elections.
