City of Dickinson - Assistant to the Public Works Director

Job Description

This position is part of the City's succession planning for the Public Works Department.

 

Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, duties include overseeing the Public Works budget and capital improvement budget; performing complex analytical work requiring program contract or budgetary analysis; assisting the Director of Public Works in the design and implementation of possible solutions to problems, policy development, special studies, contract and project management; managing the City's right-of-way use ordinance; being responsible for the Department's purchasing needs and processing of accounts payable requisitions; and intergovernmental coordination.

 

Requirements

Min. 2 years increasingly responsible public sector administrative and analytical work experience with local government experience preferred. Bachelor's degree with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field. Masters degree in public administration preferred.

 

Salary

$30,051.22 to $37,564.03 DOQ. Drug testing is required for all positions prior to final offer. City of Dickinson - Light Equipment Operator

Job Description

Performs assigned work for various maintenance and construction projects of the Public Works Department; operates grader and other heavy equipment to clean ditches and perform rough leveling and sloping of road shoulders; participates in the manual labor associated with the maintenance, repair and construction of the roadway system, including roadway and shoulder maintenance and construction, drainage maintenance and construction, mowing and vegetation control, and performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required; should have minimum one year experience in road construction or heavy equipment operation, and must hold a Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License.

 

Salary

$22,006.12 - $27,507.65 DOQ. Drug testing is required for all positions prior to final offer. PART TIME OPENINGS

 

City of Dickinson – Library Assistant (Part-Time)

 

Job Description

The City of Dickinson is currently seeking candidates for the position of Part-Time Library Assistant to work on Saturdays only. This position generally performs routine circulation desk duties including, but not limited to, assisting patrons at the counter area, checking books and materials in and out, registering new patron applications, supervising public computers, and additional duties as assigned. Candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, strong computer skills, and the ability to work flexibly at multiple tasks. Position hours are Saturdays from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

 

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in general clerical and customer service oriented work. Library experience preferred.

 

Salary

Dickinson – Fire Fighter/Paramedic/EMT(Part-time)

 

Job Description

Applicants must have a current State of Texas DL , be certified or certifiable as a Firefighter through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, and an EMT-Paramedic through the Texas Department of State Health Services. If you are a Certified Paramedic and currently enrolled in a Fire Academy you may be considered.
